1. Requirements
2. How to compile

1. Requirements

	- Some kind of UNIX systems, tested on Linux
	- first, you need Java(tm) Runtime Enviroment or Development Kit version
		=<1.4.*	(J2SDK highly recommedned )
	- Ant =<1.6.* for the compile
	- Ant optional tasks needed
	- Bash for the runner script
	- Xprt or Xprint for printing. If you don't have it and want to print, doesn't matter,
you can use the	'devprint' patch. See '2. How to compile' instead
	- Jikes(Optional, but it'll run faster) !!!NOT WORKING!!!
	- GTK(Optional) The default window system is GTK but you can easily change it
by dowloading the latest SWT package you want from
		http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/packages/development/eclipse/eclipse/downloads/
unpack it, and copy the swt.jar and swt-pi.jar and all the .so files into
the	lib/ directory replacing those files, and removing the older .so files.
?not tested? Motif(Optional) same as GTK.

I think that's all. You see that are not too much.

2. How to compile

If you have the requirements, the compile Journal. You can easily do it by
	typing
	'ant'.
But. The default compiler is jikes. So if you don't have it, run
	'ant javac'
And... :) If you don't use Xprt, you can make the binary with 'devprint'
	support.
When you click on "Print" it'll make something like this:
	'echo "text^L" > /dev/lp0'
Of course you can change the device. Why is the ^L on the end of the text ?
Because HP printers don't do anything without it.
How to apply this patch ? compile with
'ant -Ddevprint.patch=' and you can pass the option 'javac' to the end.
	Look like this:
	'ant -Ddevprint.patch= javac'
This command will compile with regular javac and with 'devprint' patch.

If your compile was successful, there is a file named 'run.sh'. Let's type
	'./run.sh --help'
to get available options. Then run
	'./run.sh'
	to execute Journal.
